SOLAR TUBES FOR GREEN ROOFS, TERRACES AND GROUND

The self-supporting system of our solar tubes makes it possible to use them on green roofs and terraces. This allows for the illumination of rooms located directly under the top element of the skylight, as well as locations separated from the top element, in any direction, by up to several dozen meters.

The damp and heat insulation system allows for the use of our solar tubes in all construction systems. They are characterised by both their water tightness, preventing the penetration of moisture from the outside, as well as their ventilation system, which transports any potential moisture outside the building.

The construction of Eco Light Tunnel solar tubes allows for their application:

  • on a green roof or terrace: for lighting rooms located below the roof level;
  • in the perimeter of the building: for lighting rooms located below the ground and in the wall area;
  • on the ground: for lighting the space below the ground.

FREE-HANGING SOLAR TUBES

This solution is characterized by a simple construction. It is used in buildings with flat
roofs and a slope of up to 15°, it can be installed on all roof constructions and coverings, and it’s most often used in industrial and sports halls.

The free-hanging range differs from standard solar tubes. The construction of the lower part of the skylight features a diffuser integrated with the light transmitting tube. Our products in this range are very easy to install, and in some cases can be supplied already fully assembled, ready to be mounted on the base.

MODULAR CEILINGS, SUSPENDED CEILINGS AND FLOORS

Solar tubes adapted to modular ceilings allow for the placement of the bottom element, responsible for scattering the light, in the modular ceiling frame. In such cases we most often recommend the use of a skylight with a diameter of 550 mm, whose bottom element is fitted into a single ceiling module.

In case of rooms where high light intensity is required or rooms with a large surface area, it is possible to install an 850 mm skylight. It uses a diffuser filling four ceiling panels. The advantage of this skylight option is easy installation, superior aesthetics, their tightness and consistency with the modular ceiling system.

The light diffusing elements used in Eco Light Tunnel products can be mounted directly in the ceilings, as well as in suspended ceilings. In the standard set, the lower part of the skylight consists of a round frame with built-in diffusers.

In the non-standard version, the frame can be square-shaped or customised to meet your individual requirements.

WALLS

In some situations, a part or the entire skylight can be placed in or on a wall. Such solutions are used for:

a) Illuminating rooms below the ground level

Solar tubes are used for lighting rooms below the ground. In this version, the diffusers are mounted in the plane of the wall.

The external skylight element in this case can be mounted in:
– the perimeter of the building,
– in the service duct, in the ground.

b) Installing a skylight on the facade of the building

In this case, the light gathering element is mounted on the facade of the building. With the use of a light-reflecting pipe system, the light can be transported directly into the room behind the wall, or to rooms located further towards the centre of the building. It’s a great method for illuminating staircases and passageways.

Depending on the lighting requirements and technological scepcifications, an individually designed light distribution system can be used. In order to maintain the lighting throughout the day, it is also possible to use an additional source of artificial light mounted inside the solar tube structure.

SOLAR TUBES FOR MULTI-STOREY BUILDINGS

Thanks to many years of experience and the application of system solutions, we are able to tailor our products to the needs of a particular project. One of such solutions can be a system of distributing natural light through a multi-storey building.

Light can be transmitted over distances up to several dozen meters, both vertically and horizontally. The skylight system can complement artificial light sources in order to ensure proper illumination throughout the day.

SKYLIGHTS IN WALKING ROUTES

ELT skylights can also be used to illuminate rooms below a walking route. The light-collecting element can then constitute part of the walking route. The skylight’s external components in this case are made of very durable materials, and are resistant to both heavy loads and impact. In this version, we offer upper parts of the skylight made from tempered glass with improved strength parameters. The glass is flush with the surface of the pavement. It is also possible to create a different version for a specific project.

This solution works well for illuminating underground floors of public facilities.

NRO, E30 AND EI30 FIRE RESISTANT SOLAR TUBES

Our products can be adapted to meet the requirements of the fire resistance classification in the facility.

In these skylights we frequently use EI 30 class horizontal barriers, which can be located both within the roof, as well as the ceiling inside the building. Certain structural properties of the building impose specific solutions and methods of installing the skylight, which is different in each case.
